It's Been Awhile...

I'm not even going to try to catch up on the past 10 months or so. Needless to say, a lot has happened. Brent didnt win a seat on City Council, but he didn't finish last either! :) In January he was appointed by the Mayor to be on the Planning Commission for Pleasant Grove, so he was pretty excited for that.

I almost forgot... the biggest reason the Skipper's have been MIA is because of a 9 month distraction that culminated in the arrival of Reagan Jo Skipper on May 19th!!!

Jennie was 4 days overdue. We went in on Tuesday night and they gave Jennie Cervidil (sp?) to prepare her for the Pitosin (sp?) on Wednesday morning. We informed our family that the baby would come sometime Wednesday evening. HOWEVER...

Around midnight Wednesday Jennie was in a lot of pain. At 1:00am they gave her the epidural, at 3:00am her water broke, and at 8:18am baby Reagan was born! Jennie went from zeros across the board to 10 cm and fully effaced in less than 8 hours! She never even made it to the Pitosin (actual inducement medicine). We are so happy and grateful for all the support and love from our family and friends.

She was 6 pound 5 ounces at birth (19 inches) and at her two week appt was already 6 lb 12 oz. Now Reagan is 5 weeks old and growing so fast! You hear people talking about how quick they change, but you cannot be prepared for it. Every day she develops a little more. Just this week she started smiling a bit more and making loud sounds (other than crying for food). She has been a TERRIFIC baby! Some nights she wont stop eating until after midnight, but when she finally goes to bed she will sleep for at least 7 hours! Reagan has been doing that since our two week appointment (doc said as long as she is gaining weight then let her sleep!). We hope it keeps up. During the day she doesnt take naps longer than an hour and usually just eats and eats and eats. Jen has been nursing like a champ! It is definitely a rough thing to do, but worth it. I'm sure we'll supplement sometimes with formula, but we'll try to go au naturale!

Go ahead and check up on us more often! We'll be better about posting. Brent really wants this to be a journal that we can print up, since none of us keep a real one!
